Guy wins 2 more National Awards

Following the success of Guy's South African Music Award earlier this year, this musical whirlwind rushed home from a short tour of France to perform at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. His solo show was considered of the top 36 picks at the festival winning him a Standard Bank Ovation Award. After his 12 show run at the festival Guy then won best pick overall in the music category and won the Standard Bank Gold Ovation Award for the Best Music Performance out of 4500 productions at this years festival. This is his third National Award for 2010. Go Guy!

Guitar Player Magazine Features Guy Buttery

Guitar Player Magazine [USA's biggest guitar related publication] has featured Guy and his latest Awarding Winning Album "Fox Hill Lane" in a three page spread. Here's an excerpt from the article - "Buttery's avant-garde world music is exceptionally beautiful - from composition to technique to atmospherics - and his latest release, "Fox Hill Lane" is one of the most adventurous acoustic recordings in recent memory."

"Fox Hill Lane" wins South African Music Award for "Best Instrumental Record of the Year"

At the 16th MTN South African Music Awards held in Sun City on the 16th April 2010, Guy Buttery's latest album "Fox Hill Lane" won "Best Instrumental Record of the Year". Being Guy's fourth nomination at the SAMA's, the most prestigious event on the SA music calendar, it is great to see the recognition "Fox Hill Lane" deserves on a large, national scale. Guy would like to thank Howard Butcher who engineered and co-produced the album as well as all the musicians who gave their time and contribution to making "Fox Hill Lane" what it is.

"FOX HILL LANE" RECEIVES A NOMINATION AT THE 2010 SOUTH AFRICAN MUSIC AWARDS

Guy Buttery's "Fox Hill Lane" has just been nominated for a South African Music Award within the Best Instrumental category. He shares this esteemed credit with fellow label mate and guitarist Steve Newman along with Howard Butcher who has been nominated in the Best Engineer category, all through Peace of Eden Recording Studios. The annual South African Music Awards [SAMA's] will be held at Sun City in Gauteng and will be broadcast live on SABC1 on Saturday, 17th April at 8pm.

New Album 'Fox Hill Lane' Released

The inimitable Guy Buttery starts a National tour hot on the heels of sessions at Peace of Eden’s recording studio in Knysna where he believes he has produced his best album yet. Fox Hill Lane is just off the press, literally, and makes its debut at numerous venues across South Africa this month. It features an eclectic collection of local and international musicians who have collaborated with Guy over the last few years and it falls nothing short of a relative masterpiece.
